A few days ago I discovered "The Cutest Blog on the Block," via the corner logo of another lovely little blog. Then I discovered their fantastic blogging format tutorials.
I had always thought I didn't want/need a header... until I saw their tutorial for creating one. So easy, so fun, why not give it a shot? So... after hours of fiddling and re-fiddling with the picture, and tinkering and re-tinkering the widths on the blog, I had a header complete with title!
It's a little fuzzy in places, a little sharp in others. But for now, I like this header. It's flaws make it more... lovable? Unique, perhaps? Either way, I'm rather irrationally proud of it. Good news is the "pages" gadget looks a whole lot better under a header than without one. All said, more tinkering will definitely come later.I still don't understand why the gadgets gave me so much grief. Haven't quite discovered the perfect ratio between the three columns, maybe.
On another note, after much deliberation, I've now created a comprehensive page of favorite movies and tv shows. Why? Because I'm a little OCD, and it's always so frustrating to forget practically every single movie I've ever seen just when that sort of thing needs remembering. It sounds really silly that one would forget a favorite movie, but it has happened in my absent-minded mind before, and it is bound to happen again. So, this list is for keeping track of my favorites, and for anyone else who's interested. =)
Headers, gadgets, and the like can be pretty tricky for me. What about y'all?

I've been messing around with headers and gadgets lately too. And I love yours! Meant to comment on it the other day. I love tall ships.
I was making new buttons for my Soliloquy and tinkering with making a header for it too. Didn't get any headers I liked, yet, but oh well. I do like the simplicity of my current words-only thing. I'll have to check out Cutest Blog on the Block and see what they have to say!
I love the curtain background on your Soliloquy! Headers drastically alter the very first thing you see on a blog, so I guess it's natural that it would be a little difficult to decide on (I know I took long enough -.-). Tricky business.
I'm a sucker for ships, too. I'd blame it on Muppet treasure island, but it probably has more to do with the tours our family took on the east coast when I was a munchkin. They really pride themselves in their pirate history.

Thanks! I had the same layout for like eight years, a lighthouse thing, very subtle. Then I found that red stage curtain one and knew it was just perfect.
I had a great love of pirates when I was a kid (still do, lol), so I think that's where my love of tall ships originated. I didn't see "Muppet Treasuere Island" until I got to college, but I watched the old Disney live-action one a lot for a while as a kid.
